Appco Group Joins forces with IKEA Malaysia for UNICEF Campaign!
Appco Group Indonesia is partnered with a number of charity clients. UNICEF being one among the major clients, Appco Group has helped them grow businesses by partnering in major campaigns.
Appco Malaysia recently collaborated with IKEA Malaysia, to roll out UNICEF’s “The State of the World’s Children 2011” campaign alongside the “YES! I want to be a champion for children” petition campaign.
IKEA Malaysia sponsored floor space at their venue to allow for the fundraising and awareness campaign currently rolled out by Appco Malaysia for the last quarter of 2011.
The campaign has proved to be a huge success with more than 600 new donors signed up and significant funds raised for UNICEF with the help of IKEA Malaysia. More than 7000 “Champion for Children” signatures were also received.
Due to the huge success of the campaign, IKEA Malaysia is set to feature the campaign in the next issue of the ONE Ikea Magazine, a bi-monthly publication by IKEA that is distributed to their customer base throughout Malaysia.
Indonesia has new charity client
Appco Group Indonesia is contributing to the prevention of AIDS/HIV in the local community
Appco Group Indonesia has been involved in preventing the spread of AIDS and HIV in the local community after taking on a new charity client, YCAB Foundation (Yayasan Cinta Anak Bangsa), which translates to “loving the nation’s children”, in June of this year.
The aim of the YCAB Foundation is the development of youth within society. The ultimate goal of the foundation is to enable under privileged youth to be economically independent through education provision, economic assistance and welfare creation.
Within the first month starting with the YCAB Foundation, Appco Group Indonesia managed to generate great sales. Since selling out of the original charity product, Appco Group Indonesia is now working on diversifying the product offering created to raise funds for the charity.
By getting local businesses involved in providing discounts for donors, Appco Group Indonesia aims to increase the awareness and range of the charity’s reach within different parts of Indonesia. They also aim to get the local communities in the different parts of the country involved with the charity.
The YCAB Foundation has three specific programs designed to achieve their goals in these areas through emphasis on advocacy and capacity building;
1. Healthy Lifestyle Promotion (HeLP): the prevention of risky behavior including drug abuse and HIV/AIDS and the adoption of a positive and green lifestyle
2. House of Learning and Development (HoLD): Digital inclusion, English Literacy and Vocational Centers
3. Hands-on Operation for Entrepreneurship (HOpE): Welfare creation through seed capital for entrepreneurship including micro loans and job center for the graduates
The YCAB Foundation was granted UN-ECOSOC Special Consultative Status in 2007 and ISO 9001 in 2008 for an international standard of management quality and continues to impact close to half a million youth annually.
To date, the foundations’ programmes have touched the lives of the millions, and aims to transform the lives of a total five million people by 2015.
The YCAB Foundation was launched in Indonesia in 1999 with six staff members on payroll and five advisers and expert volunteers. As an organisation, they have grown tremendously with a total of 85 staff members on payroll at present and over 400 to 500 young volunteers every year, reaching out to 400,000 youth per year.
In 2011, the YCAB Foundation went global through the establishment of YCAB International, a non-profit section 510 (c)(3) organization head-quartered in New York, in order to spread its wings to the Third World and other LDCs (Less Developed Countries) in Asia.
